Job Overview
The Chief Risk and Compliance Officer (CRCO) will be responsible for overseeing and managing the risk and compliance functions of the bank. This role is critical in ensuring that the bank operates within the regulatory framework and maintains the highest standards of risk management. The CRCO will work closely with senior management and the board of directors to develop and implement risk management and compliance strategies that support the bank’s growth and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Risk Management
– Develop and implement comprehensive risk management policies and procedures.
– Identify, assess, and monitor the bank’s risk exposures, including credit, market, operational, and liquidity risks.
– Conduct regular risk assessments and stress testing to ensure the bank’s resilience to various risk scenarios.
– Ensure that risk management practices are aligned with the bank’s strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
– Provide regular risk reports to senior management and the board of directors.
2. Compliance Management
– Develop and oversee the implementation of the bank’s compliance program, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.
– Monitor regulatory changes and update the bank’s policies and procedures accordingly.
– Conduct compliance training for employees and promote a culture of compliance within the organization.
– Perform regular compliance audits and investigations, and address any issues identified.
– Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
3. Leadership and Management
– Lead and manage the risk and compliance teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
– Foster a strong risk and compliance culture within the bank.
– Collaborate with other departments to ensure that risk and compliance considerations are integrated into all business processes.
– Represent the bank in risk and compliance-related external forums and industry groups.
Qualifications
– Education:
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
– A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, CAMS) are highly desirable.
– Experience:
– Minimum of 10 years of experience in risk management and compliance, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
– Proven track record of leading risk and compliance functions in a digital or fintech environment is a plus.
– In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
